🎨 Why MS Paint?
AI art has taken the world by storm. It's efficient. It's infinite. It's easy to make. But as we rocket down the path of innovation, we're moving so fast we don't see that we're losing something — the messy, imperfect, deeply human act of making things with our own hands. So we made this contest to remind our community to reconnect with that maker self. To lower the bar and celebrate the process of making things, badly, and being very human about it.
We knew the art was gonna look like shit — that was the point. We asked people to open MS Paint, or whatever janky program they could find, and just... make something. Not the next masterpiece. Just humans, disconnecting from the outcome, and returning to the joyful experience of creation.
🎯 What We Judged On
- 🎨 Choice of Program: The jankier and more outdated, the better.
- 🏙️ Subject Matter: How truly Denton is the work?
- 💥 Fullness of Expression: Did they go all in, conflicting colors and all?
- 🧪 Commitment to Experimentation: Did they push themselves outside their comfort zone?
And most importantly... did it look like they had fun?!
